Not a Plot
Although Jane Davidson's decision to step down as an AM at the 2011 election had been whispered about in recent weeks, Eluned Morgan's decision not to stand again in the European elections caught everyone on the hop I think. As a parent of two young children myself I can only imagine how tough it was to balance family life with the weekly travels to Brussels and Strasbourg - not to mention getting out and about across Wales. And I really do think that's all there is to this decision, a desire to have a bash at something approaching normal and not some great conspiracy that would delight the Bay bubble. What is for sure is that the Welsh Labour party is losing (though not just yet, and I'm sure not permanently) two of its hardest working servants. Big shoes to fill.
